Staff Profile:
Abiola Ayodeji Olaniyi’s research and training cover Old Testament Studies in African Christianity. He engages biblical literature, biblical hermeneutics and African Christianity with social concerns in the African context. Social matrix of biblical literature opens its contextualisation for integrated, intercultural and comparative interpretive approaches. He considers forms and effects of cultic rites, emblems, symbols, narratives and creeds of ancient Israelites and African Instituted Churches, for the social relationships that emerge from them on poverty alleviation, nation building, security, ecology, gender relations, leadership, and religious identity.
